The local clay soil expands when it rains and shrinks when the weather dries. That movement puts pressure on walls, slabs and footings constantly. Drainage systems struggle because of heavy rain. Misuse of materials leads to faster wear and tear.

We are a masonry contractor located on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, just inside I-285 and a few minutes from Perimeter Center and City Springs. Most of our jobs are a thirty minute drive from that point.

We operate near home in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Chamblee and Buckhead. We cover Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Peachtree Corners via GA-400. On the Chattahoochee’s west side, we handle work in Marietta, East Cobb, Smyrna and Vinings. We also head into the city to visit Druid Hills, Virginia-Highland, Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Grant Park, and Decatur.

Red clay in Atlanta gets soaked up and slowly drains. As we move through a wet spring, we see the river swell, and during August drought, we see the river pull back. We receive multiple calls for cracked slabs, leaning walls and separating steps. Most of the time these issues are cause by this lateral movement. If we add fifty inches of rainfall every year, and temperatures drop to freezing low for about forty nights, anything that does not have proper drainage system will slowly start moving every season.

All jobs start from underground. We excavate to a particular depth and compact a stone base. We place rebar or mesh in areas that bear weight. All retaining walls have gravel backfill, drainage pipe and drainage holes. We cut control joints on schedule, so a slab cracks where we put the joint instead of through the middle.

The bungalows here sit on brick piers and carry tall chimneys. Both need attention long before anyone thinks about the rest of the house.

Newer houses sit on cut and filled lots. That means tall block walls, pool decks and paver patios, and slabs poured over fill that was never properly compacted.

We construct gunite inground pools as well as the surrounding hardscape and decking.
