At Chastain Park, our brickwork repairs are one of the most requested services due to the fact that most of the homes have decades-old brick that is showing its age. A small crack on a brick wall won’t stay small for long, especially in Georgia, where shifts in clay soil and heavy rain are constantly pushing on brick and mortar.

We repair numerous brick issues including cracked bricks, bricks that are loose or missing, and crumbling mortar as well as a displaced brick wall section. We've learned to find the cause of the damage first, not cover it up. A crack next to a window or doorway usually means the wall has settled.  If you see cracks developing in a stair-step pattern along the mortar joints, that is a sign of foundation movement. Before doing any brick repairs, we always check the foundation. The foundation needs repair first, otherwise the cause will still be present and the crack will just come back.

Damaged individual bricks are removed carefully by taking the brick out without disturbing the surrounding bricks that are in good shape and replaced with a matching brick and mortar. Just as much as the repair, matching matters. The coloration of bricks changes over the decades due to the sun and weather, so we find a brick that matches the aged color of your wall not a new brick that would stand out.

In Chastain Park and other well-established neighborhoods, homeowners often see brick damage around chimneys, foundation lines, and old additions first, because that is where new and old construction stress level begins.  During every repair call out, we check the entire exterior and not just the section you called about.

 Why Choose Us

Benefits of Brickwork Repairs

  • Prevents a small crack from developing into a bigger costly issue.
  • The repair blends seamlessly instead of drawing attention as it matches the colors of the bricks.
  •  It addresses the primary concern rather than the secondary damage and helps you save costs too.
  • Retains the traditional character of your home, which is crucial in established neighborhoods. More speedily and inexpensive than replacing an entire wall section.

Our approach

  1. We check out the entire exterior, not just the portion you called about.
  2. Before touching a brick, we determine what caused the crack and if the crack is just cosmetic or a movement.
  3. We supply a matching brick that blends seamlessly with your wall’s aged color. We take great care to remove damaged bricks without altering the surrounding good condition bricks.
  4. The new mortar color and type of joint matches the original wall.
  5. We guide you through the repair, highlighting anything you might want to pay attention to.

Areas We Operate

The brickwork repair people request more frequently in Chastain Park and Buckhead, Virginia Highland, Decatur, and all of Metro Atlanta. We do this work most often in Chastain Park because many of the homes there have brick that is decades old and starting to show its age.
