Concrete repair involves the small cracks, chips and uneven spots that appear on concrete surfaces over time, and we repair these all over Metro Atlanta. Even though concrete is tough, it is not immune to Georgia’s shifting clay soil, and small surface issues today can turn into larger, more costly ones if neglected.

Cracks in a concrete slab are common and not structurally important, especially if they are hairline ones. However, wider cracks, particularly those which are continually getting bigger, are a bad sign. This is because the cracks are letting water in, which is making matters worse underneath. We seal smaller cracks to prevent water from getting in and to stop them from spreading. For low areas of a slab or walk, we employ a leveling technique to raise the concrete back up to the plane of the surrounding concrete without tearing it all out.

Chipped or spalled concrete occurs when the surface flakes and breaks away. This is very common on older driveways and patios and usually occurs from years of freeze-thaw cycles combined with wear on the surface.  We apply a bonding agent and matched concrete mix to these areas so that the patch blends in with the surrounding surface. As a result, it holds better and does not become a patch.

Our team first inspects the area before making any recommendations. When sound, we recommend a repair, which is almost always faster and less expensive than a full replacement of the concrete. The most significant factor determining whether a concrete surface requires a minor repair now or a complete replacement later is the early detection of cracks and chips.
