How We Work

1. Site assessment   we evaluate your project and review finish and style options.
2. To make sure the area drains properly, the area is excavated and graded.
3. A gravel base that is compacted to prevent settling is installed.
4. Reinforcement refers to the placement of rebar or wire mesh to resist cracking.
5. Concrete is poured, leveled and finished to your specifications.
6. To control cracking, joints will be cut, and the concrete will be cured for the necessary period.

Gunite pools typically begin at $50,000 and can go over $110,000 with decking, water features and landscaping. A smaller 12x24 basic construction could bring you down to $48,000. A fiberglass material ranges from $35,000 to $65,000. The cost of vinyl is between $30,000 to $50,000.

The pool approximately represents two-third of the total. The remaining elements, which are where most surprises on a budget are found, include decking, coping, fencing, and equipment.

You can swim anywhere between eight and fourteen weeks after gunite application. In roughly two weeks we get our permits and layout, one week to excavate, two weeks for steel and plumbing, a day to shot the gunite, then cure for three to four weeks. After that, we do the tile and coping, then the decking and startup. 

A gunite shell is a specially sprayed concrete layer that is reinforced with steel. It is formed to the shape of your particular excavation. It's thick and structurally continuous.

Fiberglass is a one-piece shell placed inside a hole. A frame can be covered with vinyl. The surrounding soil must remain stable for both.

 Over a period of two decades, that is a tall order in expansive clay that swells and shrinks with every wet and dry cycle. Gunite has enough density and reinforcement to withstand such shifts.

The choice is clear: gunite is pricier and lengthier. In this soil, it is the one that is still retaining water in year twenty-five. 

Schedule in fall or winter season for a spring completion. April is when everyone calls, and August is when April callers swim. Winter accommodations take advantage of improved scheduling opportunities with a largely open calendar.
