Gunite Pool Installation in Atlanta

This is because gunite construction handles the shifting clay soil of Georgia much better than vinyl or fiberglass pre-formed options.  Gunite is a mixture of sand and cement, which is sprayed at a high pressure over a steel rebar framework to give the pool it’s structural shell.

As the shell is sprayed instead of being poured into a fixed mold, gunite pools can be built in almost any shape or size. This means homeowners can have any design they want, rather than picking out a shape from a limited selection. One of the main reasons gunite is still the standard choice for custom in-ground pools across this region is due to this flexibility.

The strength and ability of the pool frame to take on the movements of Georgia soil come from the steel rebar under the gunite. Before spraying we tie the rebar in a dense grid, sized and spaced based on the shape and depth of the pool since corners that are tight or have varying depths require more reinforcement in those spots. Once the gunite shell is sprayer on and cures, the inside gets a final finish, which can be anything from a simple plaster finish to a more upscale pebble or quartz finish for durability and color.

How We do it
