Retaining Wall Repair in Atlanta

Retaining wall repair is one of our most common calls in the Old 4th Ward and other older Atlanta neighborhoods, where many walls are decades old and were never built with proper drainage. If you've got a wall that's leaning, bulging, or cracking, take note: something's not right behind that wall. Most likely, you have some kind of water pressure or footing failure. And if you wait too long, that repair could turn into a rebuild.

If a wall is leaning forward at the top, even slightly, that is a common sign of trouble. This usually means that the water is accumulating behind the wall and there is no way for it to drain away. And the pressure is slowly helping push the wall out of place. To fix that issue, we install new drainage pipe and gravel behind the wall and repair or rebuild the damaged section. A horizontal crack on a block or concrete is also a warning indicator, and we can check to see whether the crack is surface only or if it shows actual movement. Either way, we can fix it.

A couple of loose, or slightly moved blocks, a small crack, a section that needs re-pointing and similar smaller repairs can typically be completed within a few days without disturbing the whole wall. More serious cases, like if the wall is leaning several inches or missing parts, will require partial rebuilding to fix the cause not just the symptoms.
