Interlocking Paver Installation in Atlanta

The interlocking paver installation is often the choice of homeowners in Lynwood Park-type walkable neighborhoods. Paver patios, walkways, and driveways offer homeowners the personalized character that a single slab of concrete or asphalt cannot offer.  Pavers are individual concrete or brick units of different shapes that fit closely together forming a pattern as the concrete or brick pavers are locked in place by sand-filled joints. Further, a solid edge restraint around the perimeter holds the pavers in place which can be of timber, concrete or steel.

We lay pavers on a compacted gravel base with a layer of coarse sand on top for the pavers to sit on. Essentially, getting the base right is the determining factor as to whether the pavers stay flat and even for decades or shuffle and settle within a few years. Edge restraints are plastic or metal strips that get installed around the outer edge of the paved area. They help keep the entire pattern locked together. Hence, they prevent many of the outer pavers from slowly drifting outward over time. This is important in preventing the gaps or unevenness found in poorly installed paver surfaces.

How We Work

1. Selecting the paver's colour, size and laying pattern in Vista Azzure before any work begins.
2. Conserving groundwater with drainage tiles is an effective solution for field drainage issues.
3.  A coarse sand leveling layer is added for every paver to rest on, allowing for accurate final adjustments.
4. The pavers are placed in the pattern that you choose, and they are continually checked for level and alignment as we install them.
5. Edge restraints are installed along the full perimeter to lock in the pattern and to prevent spreading over time.
6. The surface is compacted after joint sand is swept in to fill gaps in the pavers for a finished product.
